Hi Guys! Hope you're all well! Over the past few months, with the cold weather, I'd been noticing my skin going fairly dry in certain areas. I'd never really had this problem before, so went into Boots, and asked about a moisturising but non-greasy product for my face. They recommended loads of different products! It was very hard to choose. Eventually I went with the No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Day and Night Cream. I'm generally a fan of No7 products, their body creams and bath/ shower products, and another thing that sold me is the fact that the day cream has SPF 15 in, and we all know how important it is to protect our skin.
So, I have been using this almost every day since I bought it. (I say almost as sometimes I'm bad and forget to apply it! This isn't very often ;P). But what did I think of these products?!
The day cream is fantastic. It's really light on the skin but you can definitely tell that it has moisturised and done it's job. I apply it before doing my make-up and I leave it to set for 10 minutes, and then when putting on my make-up it's almost disappeared, leaving my skin feeling very pleasant. It also has a very fresh smell to it, which isn't over powering in any way. I couldn't recommend this product more, however, the Night Cream.. This was a different story. I have been applying the Night Cream after washing my face in the evening. It is very thick and doesn't seem half as light as the Day Cream. It makes my face quite greasy, even in the morning when I wake up my face still feels slightly greasy. I must say that these creams are definitely doing the job and moisturising my skin, it's just a little bit of discomfort in the evenings sitting there relaxing with a big greasy shiny face! When I wash my face in the morning, it returns to normal, and I then start the routine again with the Day Cream that I love.
I don't usually like to mix and match my Day and Night Creams, but I think I may have to, as I love the No7 Day Cream, but can't sit in the evenings with the Night Cream on.
You can buy these products from most Boots stores. I have nearly finished both jars, of 50ml. However, sometimes in the No7 gift sets, they do samples of these products, so if you didn't want to pay for the full jars before knowing if you like them or not, this is definitely a good option!
I

A Very Nosey Beauty Tag
Hi guys! I got tagged to do the 'A Very Nosey Beauty Tag' By Corrie Arnold, so here it is, as my first ever post! Thanks Corrie.
Would you rather lose all your mascaras, eye-liners and lip products or lose all of your palettes and eye-shadows?
I'd definitely rather lose eye-shadows and palettes. Although I love my eye-shadows and they really add to every look, without mascara I look tired and like I have very small eyes! I'm very pale as well so having the mascara and lip colour helps me to look more awake and healthy, rather than constantly looking tired!
Would you rather chop off all your hair, or never be able to cut it again?
Does this mean ALL of my hair as in I'd have a shiny bald head at the end of it? I suppose if I could let it grow back then I'd definitely have the hair cut off. I usually get my hair cut every 6-8 weeks and try to use as little heat on it as possible to keep it healthy, I don't like the thought of having long hair but it not being healthy or trimmed every now and then. If it wasn't going to grow back though I'd definitely have to go with never cutting it again.
If you had £500, would you spend this on clothes or make-up?
This one's too tricky to answer!
Would you rather only use one eye-shadow colour, or one lip colour for the rest of your life?
I'd much rather use one lipstick, I don't change up my lipstick very much unless I'm going on a night out or really need to dress up, however in most of my every day looks I use a variety of different eye shadow colours, mainly neutral, but lots of them.
Bright nails or nude nails all year round?
Weirdly I'd choose bright, even though I'm really pale and usually it tends to be nudes suit pale skin, however with me I find it the other way around, and nudes only look good when I have a slight tan.
Would you rather give up lip-gloss or nail polish?
Lip gloss definitely! I'm not really a lip-gloss girl, much more interested in wearing nail polish.
Describe your perfect mascara. Have you found one?
I am yet to find my perfect mascara! My lashes aren't very curled, and even when I use an eye-lash curler, they tend to just fall flat again and stick out straight, my eyelashes aren't very full either. I have tried many and find them OK, however, still to find a great one. Recommendations !?!
What’s your ideal coverage foundation?
For a day time look, definitely light coverage, but for the evening/ night out definitely would have to be medium to full coverage.
Favourite high street/drug store beauty brand?
L'Oreal or Rimmel both do great products especially for drug store products, they have a wide variety and I haven't come across a product that I really dislike from them yet.
Favourite High end beauty brand?
Mac Cosmetics, just for their eye-shadows and lipsticks!
Is there any make-up you can leave the house without wearing?
Yes, I try to only wear make-up if I'm going into town or somewhere I want to look nice. I don't wear make-up to work as I work long shifts and am constantly active.
What is your most cherished beauty product?
Urban Decay Naked 1 palette as I can create so many every day and night time looks with it.
What skin type do you have?
Combination, I have normal skin mostly, however some areas to get dry every now and then and some oily.
Do you always use the same skin routine or do you like switching it up?
I like to switch it up as I'm still searching for something to give me great skin!
If you could only buy one make-up brand forever, which would you buy?
MAC!
Which brand has your favourite packaging?
YSL - especially the way that some of their lipsticks are packaged.
Name a make-up crime you hate
Slug eyebrows - It's nice to define your brows and add colour, but to look like you have literally coloured them in with a crayon isn't the best look.
Quick Fire
Blush or bronzer? Bronzer
Lipgloss or lipstick? Lipstick
Foundation or concealer? Concealer
Brushes or sponges? Brushes
OPI or Essie? Essie
Lotion or Body Butter? Body Butter
